Photograph of an exterior view of the rear of the Evertsen Adobe, showing for men, July 22, 1960. The tortise-shaped roof of the adobe is shown to the right of center, several windows decimated on the home's back side. To the left, three tall palm trees can be seen, while to the right, a group of four men can be seen assessing the house. The men are identified as: Charles Fulkerson, Title Insurance and Trust Thomas Workman Temple II, San Gabriel Mission Custodian Norm Woest, Title Insurance and Trust and Charles Elgert, President of the San Gabriel Historical Society and Postmaster. The adobe was built in 1850 by John R. Evertsen, who was charged with taking the first U.S. Census of the City and County of Los Angeles.
