Aerial view of the Ford Motor Company, Mercury Plant site located at 8900 E. Washington Boulevard in Pico Rivera; view is looking west. Plant is in early stages of construction and located on the corner of Rosemead Boulevard (lower left corner, but not visible from this angle) and Washington Boulevard (lower right corner, but not visible from this angle); Paramount Boulevard runs horizontally at upper middle, and Rio Hondo parallels it at extreme top. The 157-acre manufacturing facility was dedicated on May 6, 1948; the plant closed in 1980 and was purchased by Northrop Grumman in 1982. Photograph dated October 22, 1956.
