Description
Photograph of the Pasadena Tournament of Roses herald on horseback, 1909. The herald and the horse are both at center and are facing to the right. The herald is blowing on a long brass instrument with no valves and is wearing a long light-colored robe with dark lace decorations. The horse is a large dappled gray animal with a dark mane and tail. A rose-covered breast collar hangs around its neck. The horse is standing in the middle of a shady palm tree-lined street and several men in dark suits are visible walking down the street in the background. There are tall mountains in the distance at right.
