This photograph is contained in one of two volumes by Dobbin titled "Album of San Francisco."
Text written under photo: "West Portal and Ulloa, west of Twin Peaks tunnel." View looks west from above the tunnel portal across the intersection of West Portal and Ulloa. The Municipal Railway's L-Taraval tracks can be seen curving from the tunnel entrance into Ulloa. Many large new houses have been built in the area; the "temporary shop" of contractor Fernando Nelson and Sons is visible at the far right.
