Photograph caption dated July 24, 1954 reads, "San Fernando Valley's Civil Air Patrol is enlisting aid of motorcyclists in its overall civil defense efforts, to go with teams of jeeps, horses, motorboats and airplanes. Nine cyclists have joined CAP's motorcycle corps since its inauguration."
