Description
Center of Throckmorton Avenue looking toward what is now Lytton Square. A Mill Valley & Mt. Tamalpais Scenic Railway Shay locomotive can be seen crossing the square, pushing an open passenger coach as it began its journey up Mt. Tamalpais. Hotel Madrona, where author Jack London and his wife, Charmian, are believed to have stayed in June 1911 is at left. Dowd's Stables is at right. The Dowd's building pictured burned in 1910.
