Description
The photo caption printed in the Sacramento Bee on November 3, 1969 states: "State Sen. Randolph Collier of Yreka cuts a ribbon to open officially a 21.7 miles, $10.8 million section of Interstate 5 between Weed and Yreka. At left is H. S. Miles, Division of Highways district engineer from Redding who is on crutches because of a broken heel bone. At right is Earl F. Ager of Tulelake, chairman of the Siskiyou County Board of Supervisors. More than 100 persons, including numerous public officials, attended the dedication ceremony Saturday.
