Photograph caption dated March 8, 1961 reads, "Southpaws' heaven - Leastwise this is what it seems to be as these city champions are all left-handed bowlers. From left they are: front - Harry Grant, Jay Simon, Steve Bassin; rear - Steve Lewis, mascot Maxine Adler and Rudy Schad. The only jarring note is the mascot. She bowls right-handed." Photograph article partially reads, "When a bunch of fellas get together they have a barrel of fun, but when five left-handed bowlers combine it spells out city champion. T'is the story of five lefties from Victory Bowling Center who became the first all-left-handed team ever to win the Los Angeles Bowling Association (citywide) championship recently with a staggering total of 3,272 pins. This total also represents an all-time high ever amassed by any team in winning the city crown."
