Description
Caption from April 6, 1986 Sacramento Bee reads, "These folks don't believe in talking trash: They believe in picking it up. About 30 people -- bicyclists, joggers, fly fishermen and other nature lovers -- joined forces Saturday to help clear debris from the lower stretches of the flood-damaged American River Parkway. The American River Parkway Foundation kicked off 'Parkway Repair Day' by donating $5,000 to the county Parks and Recreation Department to help repair bridges, picnic areas, and horse and bike trails. They are hoping to see more cleanup days, along with a fund drive to help restore the area."
