Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph article dated March 17, 1956 partially reads, "The shabby children, some missing a hand or leg, slowly dabbed color on the plaque. It was for the man who had mustered an American fraternal group to save them from starvation. The youngsters were 'mutilatini,' Italian children maimed in the backwash of World War II battles. The man, Peter Nitrini, is a member of the May Co. organization." Note: Nitrini collected $30,000 from his fellow employees to help the orphaned "mutilatini" after the 1951 Po River floods in Northern Italy. Rev.
