This 75-foot tall shrine to aviators was built in 1924 and dedicated to honor dead American Aviators on the 50th anniversary of powered flight, December 17, 1953. Cremated remains of many famous flyers are interred here, along with cenotaph name plaques for other aviators such as Amelia Earhart.
