V2p3b In PHOTO ALBUM-VAULT: ** fc917.9461 A3, Vol. II, page 3 top right. This photograph is contained in one of two volumes by Dobbin titled "Album of San Francisco." Bust-length portrait of McLaughlin with mustache and wearing a hat. A hand can be seen holding up a magazine or newspaper behind him. Text written under photo: "Major Frank McLaughlin Identified with California Politics and Farming Chico, Calif. 1910." According to Walton Bean in "Boss Ruef's San Francisco, McLaughlin in 1906 was the chairman of the Republican state central committee and resided in Santa Cruz.
