In the middle distance stand three men, dressed in suits and hats, one on the left side of a dirt path and two on the right side; two rows of blossoming trees project into the distance and the dirt path lies between these two rows.
"The late J. H. Flickinger - 'JF' (handwritten note)" Joseph Henry Flickinger came to California in 1849, settled in San Jose around 1852. Ran meat market then in cattle business until around 1886 when set up fruit canning/drying business. Owned several orchards - China Smith, around San Martin and Lawrence Station. Created J.H. Flickinger & Company.
