Description
Photograph of the statue of the Angel of Grief at Stanford University following the 1906 earthquake, 1906. The angel sits at center with the upper body draped over a stone pedestal. The bottom of the left wing is broken off and lies in the pieces of what was once a stone dome and columns that surrounded the angel. The pieces cover the back of the lightly-colored platform that sits within the dark, metal gate. A yard of trimmed grass can be seen in the foreground while trees cover the background.
