Description
Photo caption printed in the Sacramento Bee on February 4, 1971 states: "Said the Mama Bear, beaming broadly: 'Has everybody seen the babies?' Babies? Yes. indeed. Mama Alice and Papa Smokey became the parents of twins sometime before 9 a.m. today. Alice was as proud as any new mother as she displayed the tiny cups which weighed seven ounces each at birth. Smokey and Alice make their home at Folsom Zoo."
