Description
Photograph of a view of F Street looking west from Eighth Street in San Diego, ca.1895. The wide, unpaved F Street runs down the center of the image into the distance, furrowed with carriage-tracks. At its center, a set of streetcar rails can be seen, while two- to four-story commercial buildings flank the road, just in of wooden sidewalks. In the distance to the left, a building with a spire can be seen, although it does not seem to be a church. Hitching posts can be seen spaced at regular intervals along the sidewalk. Legible signs from left to right read "Furnished Rooms", "Locksmith, Parasols and Trunk Repair", "[D]rugs", and "Plumbing".
