Description
The Clarence W. Pierce School of Agriculture is a two-year community college in Woodland Hills, California. It opened in September 1947, with 70 students and 18 faculty members and is part of the Los Angeles Community College District. The school's initial focus was crop cultivation and animal husbandry, and still retains a large swatch of open fields for hands-on working farm training. In 1956 the school was renamed Los Angeles Pierce College.
Photograph caption dated October 13, 1959 reads, "Rugged Danny Enrico, 205-pound left guard on Pierce College's powerful football squad, has been nemesis of Brahma grid foes all season and will be one of the big guns that coach Ray Bishop levels at Glendale College Friday night when Pierce opens Western State Conference play."
