Photograph caption dated November 12, 1963 reads, "The big decision as to whether the undefeated Birmingham High School Braves will play their scheduled practice football game Friday night with the Van Nuys Wolves will be made Wednesday at a special meeting of the Los Angeles City Schools' Athletic Policy Determining Committee. In the meantime, the Braves and Wolves continue to work in preparation for their playoff clash Nov. 22 or 23. Mike Dexter, photo at left, sure-handed Birmingham slotback, grabs a pass from quarterback Craig Schusterick, while Marv Adamo, photo at right, works on his place kicking. Holding for the all-City end is Ross McNutt, as Brave Coach George Goff observes. The PDC meeting may not be necessary if the school's principals can resolve problem today."
