Description
A view of several pieces of artillery which Confederate General James E. Slaughter sold to Mexican General Ignacio Mejia in 1865. There are about eight wagons, five of which have spare wheels attached to the near ends. There are three men, at least one of whom is in a military uniform, on the right, in front of a white fence and flag pole.
Title from verso. An article from the New York Times, dated June 18, 1865, notes that General Slaughter sold six pieces of artillery to General Mejia for six thousand dollars.
