Description: Three young boys, looking as if they just got out of the pool, sit on their inflatable swimming rings on this hot July day. A Lifeguard is stationed on a high tower chair to the right, watching several other youngsters that are splashing around inside the community pool. The Echo Park pool is literally next to the 101 Freeway entrance on Echo Park and Bellevue Avenues, with only the cement wall dividing the fast-paced world of commuters, and the carefree world of these children. Photograph dated July 27, 1997.
