Photograph caption reads, "Scene outside New Bethel Baptist Church before the funeral of Virgil Lee Williams, killed by LAPD. The woman in a black-and-white suit is thought to be a relative; the woman with a name badge is a funeral-home worker." A woman holds a protest sign referring to the Equal Rights Congress. Williams was killed in May, 1987.
