Description
This 1953 photograph shows an architect's sketch for Las Palmas Junior High School in North Sacramento, located at Las Palmas Avenue and Sixth Street. The 1,018,750 dollar school was occupied by its 760 students in February 1953 and was designed to release pressure from nearby Del Paso Junior High School and eventually feed Grant Union High School. Sacramento design legend Leonard F. Starks is listed as the architect. Construction was conducted by Pacific Coast Builders.
