Description
Photograph of the Truckee River near Lake Tahoe, ca.1900. There are railroad tracks running parallel to the river on the left side, resting on a bank shored up by a rock barrier. The left side of the river is densely covered with plants, except for a tall hill, on which there are only a few trees. There are large logs floating in the calm water of the river, suggesting that the large triangular building in the distance is a lumber mill. There are other buildings near this one, all of which have steeply slanted roofs and wooden walls. There are two ridges in the background, and trees are visible on the closer one.
