Photograph of the painting "The Gleaners" by Millet, depicting women scavenging in the fields, [s.d.]. Three women are pictured in the foreground, the two to the left stooping in unison to collect chaff from the ground. Farther right, a third stands half-bent, seemingly assessing the other two. In the background, great bales of hay have been piled and are being moved by horse-drawn cart. Along the horizon line, other workers can be seen to the left, while a man on horseback can be seen just on the edge of town at right.
