Danish Mission Society has made great efforts to promote the knowledge and understanding of the Det Danske Missionsselskab har udfoldet store bestræbelser for, at missionstanken måtte trænge igennem og blive forstået som hele kirkefolkets selvfølgelige ansvarsområde. Description
Danish Mission Society has made great efforts to promote the knowledge and understanding of the mission concept as the responsibility of church members as a whole. Already in 1910 the first "Mission Exhibition" took place, a special event at the time, as the public knowledge of distant parts of the world was limited to an outdated information from forgotten school books. The driving force behind the exhibitions, of which the first one took place in Aalborg, were the DMS Secretary Eilert Morthensen and Marshall of the Court, Lord Chamberlain Oscar Oxholm. The practical assistants of the exhibitions had the name "Sløjferne"(the Loops), because of the special marks they were wearing in front – as seen from this exhibition in Esbjerg, 1916. Back row, No. 4 from the right: Secretary Eilert Morthensen and No. 6: Lord Chamberlain Oscar Oxholm.
