Photo: John Gallagher (1822-1908) circa 1900. Gallagher immigrated from Ireland to America in 1840. Upon being discharged from the U. S. Army in San Francisco, he was granted a soldier's warrant of 160 acres of government land and in 1853 claimed land on San Antonio Creek near "Spanish Town" south of Petaluma. .
