Photograph article dated August 26, 1961 partially reads, "She started teaching a Sunday School class at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 11919 Oxnard St., North Hollywood. The class consisted of four children, who were almost totally deaf...Today, Mrs. Arnold and her assistants have three classes consisting of 12 children ranging from the ages of 5 through 17. They speak and sing, and they read from the Bible...'The classes are all oral,' Mrs. Arnold said. 'We don't use sign language. The important thing is to teach them to speak.'"
