Photograph of fish frying in a pan, California, ca.1910. What appear to be seven brown trout have been decapitated and gutted and placed in a frying pan with their scales still on. The frying pan maintains a rim partway up the handle and is displayed on the ground, which is littered with pebbles and bits of dried plants.
