Photograph article dated October 31, 1949 partially reads, "It was the time of the morning the shadows of the lampposts almost presented a human form. The cold air even made the inside of Prowl Car 92 uncomfortable. The policemen in the squad car had run out of conversation, making the static of their radio a welcome sound. The Sunland-Tujunga area where Officers Gilbert P. Jauron and Hilliard H. Elliott cruised was snugly shut up for the night. To break the monotony of watchfulness along the usually busy Foothill Blvd., now deserted at 4 o'clock, the policemen checked in the neighborhoods where their own homes were located. The sudden break of silence, the urgent sound which filled the car was the police radio. An 'all cars' call of holdup men fleeing from the crime scene." Pictured are G. P. Jauron at wheel, with partner, H. H. Elliott.
