Description
The First National Bank in Porterville, CA, was founded about 1900. Located on the northeast corner of Main and Mill streets, the building was one of the early ones with amore permanent type of brick construction. The wooden buildings on the east side of Main Street between Putnam and Mill streets were moved in from the town of Plano in the 1870s and were still in use when the railroad came in 1888.
