Description
Looking west on Main Street, from B Street. The Von Schmidt home (right) was built in 1881 by David Hewes. Count Jaro Von Schmidt, a famed local sportsman and hunter was living there when this photo was taken. Tustin school superintendent B.F. Beswick enlarged the second story around 1920 to provide room and board for local teachers. The home still stands at 350 B Street.
