Looking north of Sycamore Avenue from Fourth Street, showing earthquake damage to the Rossmore Hotel (left) and Rankins Dry Goods store (right). The Elks Club and the tower of the Orange County Courthouse are visible in the distance. The 6.3 magnitude Long Beach Earthquake of March 10, 1933 caused wide-spread damage in Orange and Los Angeles counties.
