See notes in Commentary. Note from Charlene Duval: Fruit drying at the Polhemus ranch, Coyote Ranch, which is now owned by the Lester Bros. It was west of the railroad tracks and south of Bailey Ave if I remember correctly. The land, 90 acres, was actually owned by Jennie Polhemus, inherited from her father G.W. Ryder.
