Description
"Spunky, a six-year-old puma, was one of the stars of ""Sequoia,"" filmed in 1933 in Tulare County, CA. During the filming, Spunky was show by a Kern County prospector who thought he would collect an $80 bounty from the State of California for the hide of a mountain lion. Spunky and his dear co-star were later judged ""best animal actors of 1935"" for their performances. (Photo courtesy of Nancy Baird)"
