Responds to Matsumara's inquiry about the condition of his house when the present tenant took possession and states that, given Matsumara's indebtedness to the Dominguez Estate Company for $173.97 at the time of his removal, he is to sign over to them the house, contents, pipelines, etc., and that they will enclose a bill of sale covering the same. Letter from Dominguez Estate Company is unsigned, but contains the initials JVC in the lower left corner. This collection includes records of land leased to Japanese American tenants in years leading up to World War II. As such, they provide a view of California in years of the Alien Land Laws, attitudes toward Japanese Americans, and the impact of World War II.
