Description
"John and Charles Ruggles were sons of Lyman Ruggles, a prominent Tulare County, CA, businessman and former county supervisor. They were accused of robbing a Wells Fargo stagecoach in Shasta County, CA, in 1892. They had both been wounded and were on pain medication in the county jail in the town of Redding when they were dragged from jail by vigilantes and hanged.
