Description
This larger railroad depot was built in 1887, even though the real estate bust of the late 1880's had crushed the growth of Beaumont. At this time, the business portion of Beaumont included two stroes, a saloon, a post office, a livery stable, three hotels, a large grain warehouse, a schoolhouse, and two churches. Other improvements were made around the depot area in subsequent years.
