Description
George Omo Sr. opened the original Omo's Market in 1943 at 436 Colonia Road. By 1949, Omo opened Omo's Market No. 2 on 508 East Date Street at the corner of California Street in Oxnard. They sold groceries, meats, produce, delicatessen, frozen foods, and beer and wine. The Oxnard Press Courier reported Omo's Market No. 2 opened Friday July 22, 1949, boasting the latest in refrigeration technology, two check stands, and six employees.
