Bound in textured black leather. The title, "San Francisco / Week of April 18, 1906" is embossed on upper center of cover in gold lettering. A fleur de lis graphic element is embossed below title. The number "42" is affixed to the top of spine with glue. Album contains mostly mass produced postcards and souvenir photographs of the aftermath of the 1906 San Francisco earthquake, very few if any of the images taken by London himself. Moderate wear over surface, more substantial wear around edges an at spine. The counter on the camera used to take contact prints appears to have stopped working at #05499, and someone chose to number the contact prints by hand in ink above each print, starting with #05501. This hand-numbering begins in previous album, JLP 479 Alb. 41 and continues into JLP 480 Alb. 42. Counter beings in sequence again at #05501 on page 39.
