Description
The Presbyterian Rock Church is the oldest church in the city of Beaumont, dating back to April 17, 1885. In 1925, the church was called Federated Church of Beaumont as its members were comprised of individuals from 14 different denominations. This rock church was dedicated in 1934. It is a city landmark due in part to its beautiful rock construction, its portals, and its unique design .This beautiful stone sanctuary was completed on May 20, 1934 at a cost of $11,009. Members and friends of the church gathered rocks from Whitewater and built it by hand. The social hall dates to the same era. The offices and classrooms were built in 1967. In recent years, the congregation purchased and developed land to the south for our new parking lot and land to the north for our newly renovated Church House. They have also replaced every roof, added numerous stained glass windows, added air conditioning in the sanctuary and social hall, and started an endowment fund.
