Dalmacio ""Dale"" Soriano c. 1948 in Santa Paula, CA. Dalmacio Soriano arrived via Alaska to work in the canneries in the 1920s under someone else's contract. Later he worked in the San Fernando Valley where he met his wife Emilia while both working for Felipe Ventura. They married in Los Angeles before coming to Moorpark, then later Briggs Lemon Association and settling in Santa Paula, CA. Dalmacio ran the Filipino labor camp at Briggs.; Portrait taken by Filipino photographer Robert ""Bob"" Fogata. Originally from Santa Barbara, Fogata rented studio space from Dalmacio, then later opened his studio, Fogata Studio Photography on 975 Main Street, Santa Paula, CA. Bob Fogata also taught photography at Ventura College, where they offer the Robert Fogata Memorial Scholarship in photography.
