Description
Westlake has become reality, with recent rains, assisted by on-site wells producing up to 1,000 gallons per minute, filling the lake. Dark section of dam, near center, is final segment of spillway, containing 1,300 cubic yards of concrete, being watered as part of the curing process. Completed lake will comprise 155 surface acres, with nine miles of shoreline and moorings for 2,000 boats. Excavation of lake basin is still under way, according to Phillip Cravitz, construction manager of American Hawaiian Land Co., owner-developer.
