Description
This is the interior of the Kilpatrick home, located at 633 Egan Ave. (The exterior of the home is featured in the previous image.) This house was on the west side of the street, one of the houses belonging to the rows of new cottages had just been completed in Beaumont. Approximately 115 new structures were erected in one year, due to the boom Beaumont was experiencing. The Cumberland Presbyterian Church is also shown, which is now the Christian Church. This is one of three churches in town. The building record of Beaumont is above any other place of its size in the state and bespeaks the rapid evolution into a young city. Beaumont also had 40,000 acres of fertile land adjacent to it, which is three times more than is cultivated in orchards around Riverside. Beaumont has enough natural resources to support easily a city of 5000 people.
