Description
This is the intersection of Fifth Street and Egan Avenue as it looked in the 1890's. The old Beaumont Post Office is pictured at the extreme left and sits on the southwest corner of Fifth and Egan, and diagonally across from the northeast corner, where the second Bank of Beaumont builiding currently stands. The other two buildings pictured are the San Gorgonia Mercantile Company and the pool hall, facing east. This intersection near the railroad depot was the main business section in the town of Beaumont for many years.
