Description
The Agricultural and Horticultural demonstration train of the Southern Pacific Railroad arrived in Beaumont in March of 1909. Commissioned by the State Horticultural Commission, Southern Pacific and the Univ. of California College of Agriculture, these lectures were held primarily to provide farmers with expert and technical information on the subjects of agricultural, horticulture and entomolgy. Several of the professors and leaders of this project are pictured in front of the Insectary Division train: 1) Professer W. T. Clark. 2) J. B. Neff 3) Professor R.H. Soughridge 4) E.M.
