Description
This photo shows the Taurusa School, about eight miles north of Visalia, CA, at the intersection of Road 140 and Avenue 352. Taken about 1913, the photo includes (back row) Freddie Jacobson, Edith Cecil, Bertha Clark, Bert Rice, (2nd row) Ray Cecil, (front row) Thelma Cecil, Josephine Hicks, Ione Keener, Harley Kunn, and Alice Cecil. The school was built in 1910 and was named for a nearby railroad siding. Among those who helped build the school was F. L. Jacobson. (Photo courtesy of Maureen Anderson)
