Soriano family portrait c. 1950 includes L-R: Virginia Soriano, Ester Soriano (lap), Dalmacio Soriano, Emily Soriano (back), Emilia Soriano, Daniel Soriano (lap), and David Soriano. Dalmacio Soriano arrived via Alaska to work in the canneries in the 1920s under someone else's contract. Later he worked in the San Fernando Valley where he met his wife Emilia while both working for Felipe Ventura. They married in Los Angeles before coming to Moorpark, then later Briggs Lemon Association and settling in Santa Paula, CA. Dalmacio ran the Filipino labor camp at Briggs.; Family portrait by local Filipino photographer Robert ""Bob"" Fogata in Santa Paula, CA. Originally from Santa Barbara, Fogata rented studio space from Dalmacio Soriabno, then later opened his studio, Fogata Studio Photography on 975 Main Street, Santa Paula, CA. Bob Fogata also taught photography at Ventura College, where they offer the Robert Fogata Memorial Scholarship in photography.
