Description
Describes arrival at Tulare, the heat and lack of furniture in their barrack, the site of the center on a former fair ground and race track, and the fact that he still needs to get used to "camp life"; states that there are approximately 2000 people at the center at present.
This collection includes records of land leased to Japanese American tenants in years leading up to World War II. As such, they provide a view of California in years of the Alien Land Laws, attitudes toward Japanese Americans, and the impact of World War II.
