Beaumont High School originated in September 1909 with 17 students enrolled the first year. D.S. Dodd and Miss Gall were the teachers. The school's meager start begain in a 12 by 20 foot shack located on Egan Street. It moved to an abandoned store on Fifth Street, then to tents, and later to the newly constructed school seen here on Magnolia and Seventh Streets.
