Founded in 1896 by Giovanni Foppiano, Foppiano Vineyards is one of Sonoma County's oldest continually-operated, family-owned wineries. The Foppiano family survived Prohibition in the 1920s by selling home winemaking kits. Foppiano moved from producing primarily jug wines to higher quality bottled wines in the 1970s under the direction of Louis Foppiano, Sr. Photographer unknown. GNIS 15 Title provided by cataloger.
