Description
Marketing photograph shows eight bottles of wine representing the Foppiano Vineyards product line under the Louis J. Foppiano brand, vintage 1975-1979, including left to right): zinfandel (1975), cabernet sauvignon (1976), chadonney (1978), chenin blanc (1978), pinot noir (1977)" petite sirah (1976), Sonoma white Burgandy (1978), and Sonoma fume.
Founded in 1896 by Giovanni Foppiano, Foppiano Vineyards is one of Sonoma County's oldest continually-operated, family-owned wineries. The Foppiano family survived Prohibition in the 1920s by selling home winemaking kits. Foppiano moved from producing primarily jug wines to higher quality bottled wines in the 1970s under the direction of Louis Foppiano, Sr.
